About Earl Haig...
A brief history of the Earl Haig Society
The Earl Haig Society, a registered charity, was formed in 1960 by five lower mainland branches of the Royal Canadian Legion. Our Society's mandate is to construct and manage seniors housing and, of the five Legions, two branches were successful in building projects:
The Coquitlam project described above is now 38 years old so the Society decided to utilize our property holding and build a new facility that would cater to the needs of the seniors in our community for the foreseeable future. Hence the Earl Haig Retirement Residence!
The projects are operated by their respective Legions and by volunteers. The chairman and directors' are comprised of Legion Members. The Earl Haig Society welcomes both legion and non legion members.
